Sailor Struggle.

Image
Uggggghhhhhhh I want this so bad! Sailor Saturn is my absolute favorite! I like Neptune too, but apparently I'm not allowed to anymore because my friend loves Sailor Uranus and is mad that Neptune is her lover. Yeah. Ooh! This too! These are some designs for Sailor Senshi compacts (plus Tuxedo Mask). I really like the ones they have for the outer senshi. The design looks much more sleek than their inner senshi counterparts. I lowkey adore Sailor Pluto so I wouldn't mind having a compact with her design on it either. *sighs* So poor. Such sad.

Currently Watching: Derek

I've never encountered a show so heartwarming and charming as "Derek." To be honest, Ricky Gervais wasn't someone I thought capable of delivering such work as he does with this Netflix Original Series. And I've only watched the first couple of episodes. My favorite parts so far are the hamster YouTube video and his last moments with Joan. Two very different scenes that somehow capture the many endearing qualities of Derek's character. This show is simple, yet it produces such beautiful images that make your heart swell (in a good way). There's nothing fancy about it. No frills or flights of fantasy. No gore and bloodshed. Just a man and his friends. To sum it up, this is the kind of show that leaves you a better person than before you watched it. Love it or hate it, the storytelling is thought provoking and you can't help but fall in love with Derek.

Hey. Jude.

Belting my heart out along with Ringo and Paul. And Judith was singing with them! I freakin' love the Beatles. Happy 50th guys!

Cheerios and Cola.

I was reading a lot of comments on Twitter and Facebook about the outcry against the "un-American" commercials during the Superbowl. The major ones being the Coca Cola and Cheerios commercials. If you haven't watched either, the videos are posted below. Now, I may not agree with homosexual marriage being shown in the Cola commercial, but that's a different post. I'm focusing more on the fact that people were upset about the "other cultures" and "other people" depicted in the commercials. Mainly "America the Beautiful" sung in multiple languages and a multi-racial family being portrayed. Most of the tweets and posts basically said, "This is America, speak English," and "bi-racial families don't belong in commercials." There were a lot of tweets saying, "America is a melting pot of cultures that blend in with ours." What makes this country so special is not the conf

Bill Nye Debates Ken Ham - HD

Heard this debate was going on today. About to watch the whole thing on YouTube. You know, I actually grew up on a lot of PBS shows including "Bill Nye the Science Guy" and "The Magic School Bus." They always phrased things a certain way so that it would blatantly point to the Big Bang Theory as the answer for the origin of Life. As a kid, it made me uncomfortable since I believe that God created everything, but I never let it stop me from appreciating the good stuff they did. No clue who Ken Ham is, but either way, I'm sure it was a good debate.

Struggling in a Pro-Austen World.

I've never liked Jane Austen. Not exactly something you should say in a group of women conversing about how much they love the books and the movies. Probably shouldn't be said in the presence of women in general, I suppose, considering that almost all women love her. While I was growing up, I always felt a little left out when my friends would go on rants about how amazing Jane Austen's books are and how much they love her female protagonists. Being a sheltered child, I wasn't allowed to read romance novels or listen to any music later than the 80s. Years later, I sought out her books just so I could understand what my friends were talking about; so I wouldn't feel left out. When I finally got my hands on "Pride and Prejudice," I immediately began to eat up the words on every page. Took me only a day to read the whole thing.  I don't think I've read as fast as that ever since. But while I was reading it, I felt so confused.
