Trying New Things.
I've been a Michelle Phan follower for a few years now. When I heard that she was starting a new business called MyGlam, I signed up. I read on their website that the company sends out a makeup bag every month to subscribers. For $10 the bag is filled with four items chosen specifically for you from a list that you can check out online.
Unfortunately, in the first few months of MyGlam, people were having a lot of problems with the payment system and the delivery time of each bag. And so earlier this year, Michelle renamed the company ipsy. The system is noticeably better, so hopefully that reduces the complaints.
I got my very first ipsy bag yesterday, and so far, I'm pretty pleased with it! Granted I'm not that picky with the products, but it's still something I really wanted to try out. The items in this month's ipsy bag are: (from left to right)
- St. Tropez Instant Glow Body Lotion 1.69 oz
- Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment 1 oz
- Juice Beauty The Organic Solution Shimmering Lip Gloss in Champagne
- Yaby concealer in Buff
- Zoya nail polish in Gie Gie
I've only used the body lotion and the lip gloss so far, but both are amazing! The body lotion is really light and helps to give a slightly more bronzed look to the skin. The lip gloss smells just like the orange creamsicle I used to get when I was a kid. The shimmer is a bit much for me but that's only because I like going for a more matte look. The Macadamia Natural Oil smells really good but I haven't used it yet. Hopefully it works on my porous hair!
Thankfully, ipsy is not the only company out there doing this kind of thing. I'll probably try a different company later this year just so I can compare products.
If you're a more adventurous type or just want to get name brand products for cheap this kind of thing might be for you! It's just something really fun to try and you get a super cute bag to put it all in.
