Neil Gaiman is by no means a common children's book writer; nor is he a noobie when it comes to weaving together a tale with both innocence and darkness. In some respects, he could be considered a more PG-rated version of Tim Burton. Most of his books resonate with me the same way the later Harry Potter books did. It feels like a young reader's kind of book but possesses that adult quality that pulls older readers in. I read his other book called, "Coraline" a few years back. The movie and the book were surprisingly similar and I liked the added character of Wyborn (not sure about the spelling.) It helped immensely because the character of Coraline tended to have a lot of internal thoughts and I think it's hard to translate that onto the movie screen in a way that doesn't take too much away from the story. Somehow, Henry Sellick was able to pull such a thing off and I believe he chose a very creative way in which to do it without losing the integrity of...
"That's all well and good, but you must be forgetting about the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America: Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; You see, when the government starts favoring any one group, others may be outcast. While this may get you want you want now, what's to say it doesn't bite you in the ass later? Really, Prop 8 shouldn't even be considered. It is completely unconstitutional. Also, when you think about it(if you disagree with Luther that thinking is a Sin) Prop 8 doesn't "protect" anything. All it does is remove people's rights. It's an oppressive law and nothing else. Last I checked, fascism was a bad thing." I'm curious to know what your reasoning is for your last sentences here. Prop 8 indeed does protect something. The Family. And where does it say that Luther taught that Thinking was a sin? I don't quite und...
Unlike the Taylor Swift song of the same name, my "haunted" refers to the presence of a very unpleasant person in my life. I've complained, moaned, grumbled, and annoyed the pants off you guys; and all for some smug, arrogant, untalented, snob who stomps around and towers over everyone like some amazon freak. It's literally become mentally and emotionally exhausting to even give a minute of my time and energy to any thought of her. Mind you those thoughts usually include me punching the crap out of her and telling her what an awful person she is to her husband's family; especially his little brother and I. She constantly baffles me. I can't understand why such a mean, selfish person can get all the attention and not even care about anyone else but herself. How does that happen? Not to mention, she's completely whipped her husband, and convinced everyone around her that she's an "expert" on everything. In all honesty, she's an idiot an...
