Awkward.
You know when you see someone you don't really want to see and you try to avoid them at all costs but sometimes fail? I've experienced that quite a few times in my life.
Most of the situations I've been in lately have turned out badly due to my awkward and strange behavior. I like to console myself after the uncomfortable event by finding a reason as to why I added that awkward element and how I can prevent that. Sadly, I'm not very good at learning my lesson the first time.
I feel that it has something to do with "wanting to fit in." I put that in quotes because to me the phrase means a lot of things. Because of certain circumstances in my life I am not able to be myself around people. I find that having a facade works in most cases; however, it seems to be slipping off more often lately.
I have been influenced by many people growing up; unfortunately not all of those people have left a good imprint in my mind or on my current behaviors. I suppose it is still my choice to act or think a certain way, but sometimes after doing something for a long period of time (in this case, a term of seven to ten years) it is hard to shake it off when you desire to get rid of it.
All I can do is continue to practice thinking before speaking. For me, that is going to take quite a long time as I analyze situations too much, too often.
Here are some links to picture that I felt were relevant. Reason why I'm posting the links and not the actual pictures is because I am getting tired of people telling me what I can and cannot use on this blog.
